The Fantastic World of Tungsten Carbide

While we do not recommend intentionally trying to damage your ring, tungsten carbide can endure a lot of abuse. Tungsten carbide rings are an 8.5-9.5 on the mohs scale. This means that the only way to scratch a tungsten carbide ring is to polish the ring with carborundum or grind it with a diamond grade abrasive.

Under normal conditions our rings will never scratch or lose their mirror like polish, in some rare instances rings may develop small micro-scratches that are faintly visible but do not diminish from the rings polish or look, if this does happen again, we will gladly exchange your ring for a new one. What does this mean? Whether working in the shop, outside, in the office, or on the mountain you can wear your ring without ever having to worry about scratching or damaging it.

The tungsten rings are incredibly durable; however it is wise to remove the ring while engaging in heavy activities. Proper care should be given to the ring and it should be cleaned with mild cleansers and soft cloths. If possible, store the ring separately from other jewelry, particularly diamonds which can scratch the metals. Special care should be given to inset diamonds present in the tungsten engagement rings.

From above all, we know the tungsten wedding rings are durable and safe. If there is no accident happen, it will go with you for ever just like your happy marriage.

Because they’re so tough, tungsten rings are pretty impossible to resize in the same way that gold or silver jewelry is. Most websites and vendors will allow you to trade in your ring for a new one if your finger size changes, or if you guessed your partners’ size wrong, but don’t assume that this is the case. In addition, there’s generally a charge involved in getting a new one of the right size. Knowing your ring size before you go will save you a lot of grief.
